there is no doubt about that. However, themselves academically and who have performed well in school, we rely on the qualitative factors of the application to arrive at a decision while we are looking for students who have challenged. At this point into the process, high school seniors should focus their attention regarding the presentation components of the application: the essay, short answers, extracurricular activities, and also the page of recommendation.
The essay is a pupil’s opportunity to tell us who they are, not only being a person but also as a student. Probably the most effective essays are the most essays that are authentic. We are truly to know who our candidates are. The best advice I will give to students is to ‘be yourself’.
They are called short answers, buuuut they shouldn’t be too short of an answer. The short answers are taken very really inside our review process. They offer us insight that is valuable to a student’s academic interest aswell as their commitments outside of the classroom.

ï»¿Summer Is Almost Here! Summer is nearly here!
In just a few short weeks high school students across the country is going to be happening summer break. We receive numerous concerns from pupils as to what they should be doing over the summer. There truly is not one answer.
Having read 46,000 applications, we have seen a wide range of summer experiences that students have embarked on. We’ve read every thing from summer time programs at prestigious universities, to work that is gaining at their local mall, to climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro (literally). We admire students that pursue their interests.
Right Here is a short range of summer time activities you could pursue:
- Volunteer at a hospital, park, library, museum or aquarium
- Become a Camp Counselor at a summer camp
- Train to be always a lifeguard at your pool that is local, or beach
- Baby-sit your neighbor’s kid
- Just Take a college-visit road trip
- Serve up fro-yo at your local yogurt that is frozen (get some work experience)
- Sign up for the mission or solution trip in the US or abroad
- Tutor younger students in your favorite topic
- Take a class at your community that is local college university
Whatever you end up achieving this summer, be sure to look for a summer activity considering that which you love doing and maybe not based on just how you think it will look on your university applications.
